Mimi Jong has been performing erhu since age eleven. In addition
to teaching, she performed with renowned musicians of various genres
and collaborated with artists of various media. W ith the mission nurturing
cross-cultural understanding through arts, Mimi collaborated with other
Chinese artists to form "Jasmine Dynasty", introducing Chinese dance and
music to schools in the region. Mimi also founded "HarmoniZing!" and
serves as the board president, inviting professional performing artists for
concerts and residencies.
Born as ethnic Chinese in Indonesia and received her higher education in
Germany, Mimi is a composite of many cultures. She brought all these
influences with her to the U.S., where she continues to explore the
potential of peace through diverse cultural expression. Her mediums are
through architecture, music, painting, poetry, calligraphy, Zen practice,
feng shui, and most importantly, through people
and friendship.
