Zongti Lin

Zongti Lin is a master of Jing Hu, the primary stringed instrument of Beijing
Opera Orchestra.  

He began to learn to play Jing hu when he was six years old.  At thirteen, Lin
auditioned for the Beijing Opera (Peking Opera) Institute where he was
accepted and studied for six years.  After graduation and as a member of the
China Beijing Opera House, Lin traveled in China and abroad, performing in
China, Europe, Canada, Japan and United States, where the orchestra made
several recordings.   

In 1984, he joined his wife, Helen, at Austin.  Lin studied Western music in
Austin for two years.  Mr. Lin has taught Chinese opera music, Chinese string
instrument such as Er hu and fine arts such as painting and calligraphy to
students in Houston and Austin, where he and his wife live and frequently
perform.
