Leticia Rodriguez is an artist without boundaries. Her art has ranged from the
abstract to the concrete. Her collaborations and productions incorporate
everything from serving milk and cookies baked during a performance, to
dancing as Frida Kahlo against luscious video and riveting tango. She has
danced, sung and humored her way in original performance works produced
and performed in for the past eight years. Before that, don’t ask.
Ms Rodriguez performs and produces works that are often about Texas,
although also universal. Her themes seek to create art which incite dialogue.
Her latest solo performance work, “Cancioes For Generations,” was produced
by “Performance Encounters,” a performing arts company, in which Tejano
heritage is explored. The boleros heard today are excerpted from this well-
received humorous and insightful work.
